50 Years Fly: The Rise, Fall and Revolution of Hip-Hop Fashion | NBC News

Supervising Producer | Story Editing | Script Editing

Nominated: News and Documentary Emmy

A large, multi-month production for the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. As a senior producer, I supervised the development and production of the piece, and worked closely with the producers and editor to hone the script and the final cut.

The Next Italian Renaissance: Pompeii | NBC News

Producer | Editor

Produced in the early-months of the pandemic, this was an international collaboration with a European crew and me producing remotely from Brooklyn. A part of a longer NBC News series about the impact of the pandemic on Italian cities, this was a fun one to edit, lots of stately images that I intercut with some fast, chaotic energy to throw the audience off a bit.

How to Talk to Voices that No One Else Hears | NBC News

Producer | Director | Editor | Writer

Filmed in Salem, MA, and NYC — this was a passion project about mental health awareness. I was able to meet and document some incredible people with unique mental experiences. My goal in the shooting and editing was to somehow convey internal experiences that are at times disorienting and at other times at peace.

The Calm Room | NBC News

Producer | Director | Editor | Writer

Filmed in Yakima, Washington, this story was about how one school is working to help students’ social-emotional resilience by creating a calm, safe space. In the edit, my goal was to play with pacing to both achieve the frenetic energy of elementary school kids, and then cut it with the stillness of their calm room. I filmed most of the piece handheld with wide-angle lenses.

The Babies of Al-Shifa | NBC News

Supervising Producer | Story Editing | Script Editing

Supervised the production beginning in the scripting stage. Wrote the script with the producers and correspondent, helped shape the piece in the edit, and worked closely with the correspondent to craft the tone of the voiceover.

The Last Days Of An American Dairy Farm | NBC News

Co-Producer | Editor | Writer

Worked with a great reporting and directing team on this one. I led the edit and was instrumental in shaping the story. My edit started in the middle when I shaped the cow-auction scene. I’d identified the sequence as an editorial and emotional lynchpin for the piece. Once that was locked, it informed everything that came before an after.

Bill Burr: Fatherhood, Anger... | NBC News

Producer | Editor | Writer

An example of a multi-cam interview setup I produced w/ comedian Bill Burr. I framed the shots, conducted the interview, and edited the piece.

Party Crashers: A Political History With LEGOs | NBC News

Producer | Writer

Co-production with YouTube creator Kevin Ulrich of “Brotherhood Workshop.” I developed the concept, hired Kevin, co-wrote the script and then Kevin made this delightful video. I loved the collaboration, including laying out the basic framework before letting Kevin add his own flair, style and humor.
