Set amongst alligator filled ponds, palm trees, and flocks of tropical birds is the small retirement community of Lakeshore Villas. The numerous and well-manicured trailers are home to individuals whose lives, anxieties, and failures are examined through personal stories and beautifully crafted observational footage. With a nostalgic score and motifs evocative of a 1950’s Florida postcard, what could easily be a melancholic film becomes a, sometimes, whimsical reflection on life’s final stage and the joys and failures that led the characters to their long-term residence at Lakeshore Villas.
